DEAR DOCTOR

At times when I am at the cross road between being a doctor and somebody else, this kind of poems really helps lifting up my spirit. To all Doctors out there...

DEAR DOCTOR

It's true I do not walk the road you tread most every day…
Nor know how stress must weigh upon your spirit on the way.
For patients come to seek your care and look to you for hope.
While families seek most desperately to find a way to cope.

We ask that you just listen as we speak of hopes and fears.
Some will show amazing courage, while others fight back tears.
And it must be quite difficult to determine each one's needs...
For though some want every detail, others simply seek your lead.

And, too, it must be humbling to look in desperate eyes…
Of those who turn to you for hope which cancer would deny.
But whether we are cured or not, we simply want to say…
"We're grateful for the care and skills, You offer us today."

But even more importantly… Your compassion helps heal our soul.
So, together, we will do our best to make the body whole.
Dear Doctor, we are grateful, for you gently help us cope.
While guiding us to paths ahead which lead to trust and hope!
